MEET at the STRIPE PLAZA at 7.50
You will be travelling by train to the New Forest. The train leaves at 9.06
The New Forest is a National Park with approximately 150 square miles of unspoilt, natural beauty.
As well as forest, it is also made up of heathland and is notable for its wildlife. Most famous are the New Forest ponies. There are about 5,000 ponies roaming wild across the forest, as they have done for at least 2,000 years. The ponies are quite accustomed to people and you can actually get close to them. As you explore the forest, you may also see cows, donkeys and possibly even deer. The forest is not actually ‘new’ at all. It was created as a royal forest in 1079 by King William I (William the Conqueror). It became a National Park in 2005 and is a popular tourist destination.
